Open Door
A free 8-month part-time training programme preparing aspiring actors without financial support to apply for drama school. Fortnightly sessions with the Open Door team and visiting tutors, masterclasses, free theatre tickets and a hardship fund covering audition expenses. Partner schools include RADA, LAMDA, Guildhall, Royal Welsh College and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. This intake covers the North and North West.
Aspiring actors serious about a career, applying for a BA Acting degree, who lack the financial means to access the industry. Based in the North or North West. Annual intake.
North & North West region. For applicants aged 18+ from 1st October 2026, household income £43,000 or less, no existing UK degree, eligible for 3 years Student Finance, intending to apply for full-time BA Hons Acting for academic year 2027. Audition dates: 14-16 September (first round), 28-29 September (recalls).
