Pentabus Theatre
A rural-theatre residency based in Ludlow offering a GBP 12,000 bursary plus travel and accommodation to an emerging playwright developing a new play. Annual, supported by the Jerwood Foundation; applications close early summer, residency begins the following spring.
Emerging professional playwright early in their career, UK-based, aged 18+. Full-length play sample required.
Applications for 2027 Writer in Residence have closed. Current resident (2026) is Rhys Warrington. Jerwood Foundation funding supports the programme with £60,000 over three years (2025-2027).
